Opportunities to volunteer in both the Gift Shop and Information Desk are available now. We are 100% non profit, run entirely by volunteers. The Gift Shop is open Monday-Friday from10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. Our shifts are usually 2 hours, but we can accommodate other schedules. The Information Desk is anytime Monday-Friday from 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. with flexible shifts available.
All proceeds made are used to benefit SCMC patients! Previously, funds have helped pay for a special bathtub at the Courage Cottage, landscaping around the hospital, and most recently care bags for infusion therapy patients.

Someplace Safe

Someplace Safe is a non-profit organization that provides crime victim services for domestic violence, sexual assault and general crimes. Our mission is to create a safer world for everyone by working to eliminate violence and oppression through advocacy, education and services. Someplace Safe’s programming includes ten outreach offices across West Central Minnesota as well as parent-child exchange and visitation centers in five locations, including Stevens County. Volunteer opportunities include: assisting in providing advocacy while gaining work experience (training is provided), arranging community presentations, distributing resources and information, assistance with donation organization and collections, helping to plan and organize the annual fundraiser. Our mission is to minister to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our clients including pregnant women, their unborn children, their families and friends as well as those suffering the repercussions of abortion.
Volunteers have many opportunities, including being a Client Counselor (lay counseling); Office Assistant; Newsletter Editor; Board Member; Earn While You Learn Educator; and Fundraising Helper.

Pomme de Terre Food Co-op

The Pomme de Terre Food Co-op is dedicated to providing local, organic, and natural foods to the Morris community. They offer bulk foods, spices, local meats, specialty cheeses, whole grains, and international groceries. PDT Foods is located behind Keeper’s Antiques on Atlantic Avenue, and is open seven days a week.
The food co-op is staffed by volunteers, who each spend two hours a week at the store. In exchange for service, volunteers receive a handsome discount on their groceries.

Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance

We are a non-profit organization that is working to advocate, promote, and coordinate arts, heritage, and cultural activities in Stevens County and the surrounding area.
We are mostly staffed by volunteers who work 3-4 hour shifts. Non-artist volunteers receive a 5% discount after working 5 times and a 10% discount after 10 times.

Our mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the history of Stevens County, Minnesota and to Make History Come Alive for all our visitors.
Sample volunteer opportunities are answering phones, greeting visitors, clerical and computer tasks, genealogical or historical research, sewing, painting and many more things we need to have done.
