Morris area small business owners hopefully have heard about the new PPP funds that are available. Stevens County Economic Improvement Commission Executive Director, Cheryl Kuhn breaks it down for us:
The Paycheck Protection Program is now open with new funds available for businesses who were not eligible in the past, as well as second round funding for those who have received, prior to this round.
- Two week early priority access for businesses with fewer than 20 employees.
- Self-employed, sole proprietors, and independent contractors can now qualify for additional money.
The process to apply is very simple. All PPP applications are handled through your local banker. Statistically, Community Banks have been quicker to respond to applications and are streamlined in their processing. Our Stevens County bankers have done a wonderful job making sure businesses that were eligible in the first rounds received priority funding and are ready to assist with this new round of funding. If you have not applied or have not been eligible in the past, please contact your local community banker today!
